Travis Air Force Base

Travis Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base. It is located three miles east of the central business district of Fairfield, in Solano County.
Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area and known as the "Gateway to the Pacific," Travis Air Force Base handles more cargo and passenger traffic through its airport than any other military air terminal in the United States. The base has a long and proud history of supporting humanitarian airlift operations at home and around the world. Today, Travis AFB includes approximately 7,260 active USAF military personnel, 4,250 Air Force Reserve personnel and 3,770 civilians.[3]
Travis tested 12 groundwater wells on-base and all were found to be above the Lifetime Health Advisory of 70 ppt. PFOS/PFOA were found at concentrations of 40,000 ppt.
The Air Force reported, “Completed the base-wide Preliminary Assessment and received regulatory concurrence on the findings. Initiated a base-wide Site Inspection for PFOS and PFOA. Continue following the CERCLA process through investigation, cleanup, and long-term monitoring. Perform mitigation activities when impacts to human health are determined.”

From Travis AFB: "There is no regulated standard for PFOS/PFOA cleanup yet. Once a process is defined, the Air Force will follow that process. A site-specific cleanup level can be calculated, but cleanup can’t be completed until the extent is defined in a Remedial Investigation. Sites where drinking water has been impacted will be given a higher priority for cleanup funds." https://www.travis.af.mil/Portals/30/2018-04_RAB_Final_Minutes.pdf
Although the California Water Board tested 600 water systems in 2019 for PFAS, they did not test the water for the carcinogens near Travis AFB.
